Estimation of State of Charge (SoC) Using Modified Coulomb Counting Method With Open Circuit Compensation For Battery Management System (BMS)

Abstract— Battery is one of the important components in development renewable energy technology. This paper presents a method for estimating State Charge (SoC) 4Ah Li-ion battery. status capacity battery form percentage which makes it easier to monitor during use. Coulomb calculations are widely used, but this still contains errors integration. In paper, SoC measurement using Open Circuit Voltage Compensation used determination initial SoC, so that reading more precise, because if only uses voltage sensor, less precise affects next n second reading. we present management system design or commonly known as BMS (Battery Management System) focuses on monitoring function. sensor divider circuit and an ACS 712 current send information about condition microcontroller control center. Besides, equipped with protection relay protect The estimation results 12volt actual show error than 1%.Keywords—Battery System, Modified Counting, Charge.
